Whenever given the opportunity, I attend meetings of homeowner association boards of directors. These meetings provide an up close and personal look at day-to-day issues and problems.
Recent issues included: What to do about people who park their cars overnight on the street, or even on their front lawns? What to do about people who won’t, or can’t, shovel snow off their sidewalks? If your neighborhood gets its garbage picked up on Friday, what to do about people who put old furniture and other stuff to be thrown away on the curb several days earlier? What about people who don’t pick up after their dogs poop on neighbors’ lawns? What about people who don’t pay their monthly assessments, either because they can’t or simply refuse?
You get the point. Being on a homeowner association board is a thankless but essential task. Next time you see a board member, tell them thanks.
Btw, I would like to attend your homeowners association meeting, not to talk but to listen. Email me at Joe9204@gmail.com or call 717-1067.
